An Advanced Method

The procedure is considered an advanced method of exfoliating the skin.

Exfoliation is necessary for ridding dead skin cells on the upper-most layer of your skin.

If left untreated, a variety of skin problems often occur.

The diamond-abrasion device painlessly erodes the outermost layers of the skin, removing dead skin and debris, while resurfacing the skin to its smoothest and softest condition.

The result is an immediate improvement in the skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance.

It also leaves your skin more receptive to other treatments and products.

FAQ

How does Diamond Microdermabrasion work?

Diamond microdermabrasion works very similarly to the standard crystal microdermabrasion treatment. The standard treatment involves using a hand-held device that propels aluminum oxide crystals onto the skin at a high speed while also vacuuming the dirt and dead cells.

With diamond microdermabrasion, a diamond tip replaces the crystals. The diamond tip does not create any particles and offers better results with less downtime.

A normal course of treatment is usually between 6-10 treatments. However, this can vary for each individual based on your skin type and condition. Treatments are scheduled at 7-14 day intervals to give your skin time to heal and improve. Exfoliating the most superficial layer of your skin will unclog your pores by removing dead skin cells and initiate cellular turnover. This results in reduced fine lines and wrinkles, superficial dark spots, removal of acne forming bacteria, as well can result in fewer breakouts. It also diminishes the appearance of scars and age spots for renewed skin elasticity and a healthy glow!

What can I expect during my initial consultation?

During your initial consultation, we will discuss whether diamond-tip microdermabrasion is the best treatment option for your skin for what you want to accomplish.

If you have any questions regarding this skincare treatment or any other treatment, we can address your questions and concerns as well.

What happens during the Diamond Microdermabrasion treatment?

First, I will cleanse your face. It is not necessary to remove your mascara if you have any on. I will place a freshly sterilized diamond tip onto the handpiece of the microdermabrasion device. Then, I turn on the device, and I adjust its setting to your skin type. I will move the small handheld unit over your skin in short sweeping motions. This is done in two directions on each part of the treated area. You may feel a gentle suction on your skin and a slightly gritty feeling as the diamond tip removes a thin layer of dead skin cells.

There is no bleeding, pain, needles, or cutting with this procedure. This part of the treatment makes up the main body of the treatment.

Depending on what we decide to do, a soothing rich cream, as well as sunscreen, is

applied to the area at the end of the procedure, to help calm any redness and to hydrate your skin.

Diamond microdermabrasion can provide spectacular results after just one treatment. However, the best results are achieved when a series of treatments are performed. You will be provided with after-care instructions and I will recommend specific products to take care of your skin after the treatment.

What are the benefits of Diamond Microdermabrasion for my skin??

Approximately every 28 days, the human body creates a new layer of skin. As new cells form, they push their way to the surface. Unless the older layer is removed, the regeneration process can enlarge and clog pores, and create a bumpy, uneven texture, and a dull appearance.

As we age, the renewal process slows down and often leads to the appearance of older less radiant skin. Microdermabrasion removes the dead skin cells leaving your skin softer, smoother, brighter, cleaner, refresher, and younger-looking.

What is the difference between Diamond Microdermabrasion and Crystal Microdermabrasion?

Crystal microdermabrasion is not as effective as diamond microdermabrasion. Crystals can have some bad side effects compared to the diamond method as well as a little bit longer downtime after each treatment.

The crystal process leaves dust particles on your skin. Diamond microdermabrasion does not. These particles can be inhaled and result in some unhealthy consequences.

While good results can be achieved from the safe areas treated with crystals, the most delicate eye areas, and skin around the lips must be avoided.

Unfortunately, these areas are usually where the first fine lines and wrinkles appear. Fine lines often develop in these areas and represent the main reason many people want skin treatments in the first place.

Diamond-based treatments do not produce harmful dust and have a more effective application spectrum than crystals. They can be used near the eyes and around the mouth area where the signs of aging are first observed.

What other techniques can be used to make Diamond Microdermabrasion even more effective?

Microdermabrasion can be combined with a new treatment called PURE Oxygen Infusion Treatment as well as LED Light Therapy and Chemical Peels.
