My Art & Craft

I learned my techniques in Europe and in the US, and I source all of my products from the most advanced and reputable brands in the industry.

I work with Xtreme Lashes® by Jo Mousselli, the best eyelash extensions brand on the market. These premium extensions that I customize for each client are not traditional strip eyelashes!

They are single synthetic mink strands of eyelashes and they can be applied to look either naturally feathery or bolder depending on the style you want and prefer.

Every look is extremely customizable to stand up to your lifestyle. You can keep enjoying your favorite activities without fear of damaging your extensions.

They will not break or get brittle easily. Safe and comfortable to wear, Xtreme Lashes® Eyelash Extensions are never applied directly to your skin or eyelid. With routine touchups every two to four weeks, you can have amazing eyelashes all the time.

I use semi-permanent single eyelash extensions to be able to follow the regeneration process of your natural lashes.

As we all loose up to 3-5 natural lashes a day, when your natural lash is ready to shed out of the follicle, the extension applied to it will shed out as well. And, when a new lash grows, a new extension can be applied to it.

Painless, Gentle & Relaxing

Lay down for a moment just for you. Close your eyes and let me take care of you in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. During your session, I apply a single lash extension on each of your eyelashes. The application process is completely pain-free and does not damage your natural eyelashes.

I use medical-grade adhesives and premium synthetic mink eyelash extensions to protect the integrity of your natural eyelashes. I always prioritize health and the strength of your natural eyelashes while achieving the most exceptional results to help you get what you looking for.

Aftercare Tips For Eyelash Extensions

It's very important to take care of your new lash extensions. With the right care, your natural lashes will remain healthy and strong. Some important points to remember on how to take care of your eyelash extensions:

  • Do not immerse lashes in heavy water for 12-24 hours after the application (light mist is fine) - this will actually remove any chemicals from the glue and lessen any chance of reactions.

  • Avoid running water directly on your lashes when taking a shower - do not stand with your eyes/lashes directly under the showerhead.

  • After showering, remove the excess of water with a paper towel, dry your lashes with a small fan and brush/comb gently through the lashes starting at the middle and going upwards. Do not comb from the root of the lashes - this may cause your natural lashes and extensions to be pulled out prematurely.

  • Avoid any hot steam or go to the sauna immediately after the application. Allow enough time for the glue to bond to the lashes.

  • Do not rub your eyes/lashes.

  • Try to sleep on your back.

  • If you wear mascara, only use water-based mascara and apply only on the tips of your lashes to create more volume.

  • If you apply mascara, go from middle to tip, avoid root area. Use an eyelash conditioner every evening. It will promote your natural lashes' health and boost the growth of new lashes. Do not be afraid to touch your lashes. Lashes need to be cleaned especially if you wear makeup daily.

  • Rinse your extensions after swimming in the ocean or pool, sweating, or if you are exposed to excessive dust, dirt or pollen. Clean your lash extensions and the surrounding eye area with extensions safe cleanser that I can recommend.

  • Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler. This can cause lash breakage.

  • Do not pull on your lashes, this may cause your natural lashes to come out prematurely.

  • Always ask questions if you are unsure of after-care instructions I’m always happy to support you!

FAQ

What is an eyelash extension?

Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent synthetic mink applied to your natural lashes to enhance them. They are"semi-permanent" because we all lose 3 to 5 lashes a day. When your natural lash is ready to shed out of the follicle, if there is an extension applied to it, both of them will shed out together. In turn, a new lash will grow from the root, and a new extension can be applied during a refill.

With classic eyelash extensions, one extension is applied to one natural lash.

With hybrid eyelash extensions, you will get a mix of classic and volume. With volume, multiple extensions are applied to one natural lash.

What is the application process?

Applying eyelash extensions is pain-free, gentle, and relaxing. You lay comfortably on a massage table with your eyes closed. Some clients even sleep through the entire appointment.

I apply a single lash extension to each individual eyelash. The eyelash extensions and medical-grade adhesives do not damage your natural eyelashes at all.

Depending on the service selected, the process takes between 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes for the initial lash appointment and around 45 minutes to 1 hour for a refill.

What type of semi-permanent eyelash extensions do you offer?

I use Synthetic Mink Xtreme Lashes. These eyelash extensions enhance the beauty of natural eyes in different ways. Eyelash extensions can be applied to look as natural or bold as you would like.

How long does it take to apply eyelash extensions?

If you come for a full set - you’ve never had eyelash extensions before or you currently do not have extensions - the appointment will be booked for the time specified for each set (see above).

I will reserve some time to do a short consultation about the style and look you want, as well as time to check your face shape, make an assessment of your natural eyelashes.

If you come for refills, lash refills take anywhere from 45 minutes to 60 minutes depending on how long you have been waiting between the refills.

Why Xtreme Lashes® Eyelash Extensions?

Xtreme Lashes® Eyelash Extensions are not your traditional false eyelashes line from the nearby retail stores. They are single synthetic strands of eyelashes applied one by one directly to each of your natural eyelashes.

You can brush them, get water on them; they will adjust to your lifestyle. The investment is worth the time and money, you won't be disappointed.

Safe and comfortable to wear, Xtreme Lashes® Eyelash Extensions are never applied directly to your skin or eyelid. With routine touchups every two to four weeks, you can have amazing eyelashes for a while.

Treating yourself with eyelash extensions means that you do no longer have to worry about smudged or smeared mascara. They are waterproof, and they don’t lose their curl or shape. They stay in place if you respect some simple aftercare rules.

With Xtreme Lashes® eyelash extensions, you will spend less time in front of the mirror, trying to darken your lashes with mascara – Just get up and go!

Are there any activities I should avoid with eyelash extensions?

You should avoid touching your lashes excessively. Try not to sleep directly on your lashes. Otherwise, you can shower, swim, surf, snorkel, and enjoy everyday life without worry. Check out aftercare section for more information.

How often should I get a refill?

I recommend coming in for a refill every 2-3 weeks, depending on the fullness you want to maintain. The majority of my clients come every 2 weeks, while some come weekly, and others come every 4 weeks.

If you take good care of your lashes, coming every 3 weeks is a good average. If you are more peculiar about the fullness of your lashes, it is best to come every 2 weeks, or even weekly. The longer you wait between the refills, the more we have to refill during the appointment.

In order to get a refill, you need to come in with at least 40% of lash extensions still left.

Do I have to do anything to prepare for the service? Am I a good candidate for eyelash extensions?

Skip makeup before your appointment. Any makeup around the eye, including eyeshadow, under-eye concealer, and eyeliner on the top or bottom lash line will be removed and a $10 cleaning fee will apply.

Clean your lash line before your lash appointment. Whether you clean them at home or we clean them in the studio (which can take up to 15 min), starting your with a squeaky clean lash line is essential.

Extensions will not adhere to unwashed natural lashes. Please take the time to do a thorough, deep clean of your lash line using a product that can be purchased at the studio.

Please arrive to the appointment ready to rest. Therefore, caffeine, including coffee, tea, chocolate, Vitamin B, 5 Hour Energy Shots, Guayaki Yerba Mate shots, Pre-Workout, and other energy supplements make it difficult for the nervous system and body to relax. This often manifests in twitchy or fluttery eyelids, difficulty lying still, and an increased need to use the restroom.

Restroom breaks are not offered during appointments. We encourage our clients to bring ear pods and enjoy their favorite podcasts or relaxing music while having a lash nap.

I respectfully recommend silence while I work on your lashes. As a conversion often means gesturing, it can cause the body to move and create potential hazards during the lash extension application. Talking even without gesturing, moves the neck, head, and face enough to make eyelash isolation process and application difficult. This will cause ‘stickies’ and limit the number of extensions that can be placed during your appointment. Talking also moves the under-eye gel patches, which can result in irritated eyes or lower lashes get lose and adhere to the upper lashes.

It’s recommended to take a shower and wash your hair before the appointment because you will not be able to put water on your lashes for 24h after application.

If you have a “pink eye,” a corneal abrasion, blepharitis, stye, or eye mites or any other contagious skin or respiratory disease - you are NOT a current candidate for lash extensions. Wait for the infection to be over completely. When the infection has cleared, you may discuss extensions at that time.

If your lashes are very sparse and short or if you had an allergic reaction to any skincare or makeup in the past, it would be best to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your concerns.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit the spa while wearing eyelash extensions?

Absolutely! But, wait 24 hours after the application before any direct contact with water to ensure your natural lashes adhere to eyelash extensions. If you go to the sauna or practice Bikram yoga, you may experience a heavier shedding of the extensions.

What is the lifetime of a lash?

A full lash cycle can be anywhere from 21 to 90 days. Of course, everyone is different. If you have extensions, you could wear them off completely in 5 to 6 weeks. Typically, any products and oil substances being used can impact the eyelash extensions’ longevity.

Is the product FDA approved? Is it safe?

Currently, the FDA is not regulating lash extensions because the extensions are applied to the natural eyelash hairs and do not touch the skin.

The application process is pain-free and so relaxing that most clients fall asleep during the procedure. However, an improper application by an unqualified eyelash technician can cause damage to your natural eyelashes. Hence, I recommend only using a Licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist who is a Certified Lash Artist.

All products used by Kamila Beauty Studio are professional lash products reserved for professionals. Although these products are the best in the market, you need to be aware that exposure to any eyelash extension adhesive may cause an allergic reaction. The allergic reaction may be characterized by eyelid swelling, eyelid redness, and eyelid itching. It is the client's responsibility to contact Kamila Beauty Studio as soon as possible and it is the artist's responsibility to remove the lash extensions, free of charge, if a reaction occurs.

Can the eyelash extension be removed?

Yes, eyelash extensions may be removed at any time and for any reason. The removal process is similar to the application process, but it only takes about 30 minutes. It is not safe to try and remove lashes yourself. There is a specific removal technique. A removal fee will be applied.

Can I wear makeup or mascara?

The whole idea with lash extensions is that you don't have to apply mascara anymore! If you want to apply mascara, Kamila Beauty Studio sells a mascara that is safe for extensions and cleans off very easily.

As a general rule, stay away from any oil, clay-based, waterproof makeup products as they can break down the bonds in the adhesive and cause your lash extensions to shed prematurely.

I have no lashes at all, can I still wear eyelash extensions?

Because Eyelash Extensions are applied to existing natural lashes, you must have some natural lashes to receive the procedure.

Eyelash Extensions should not, and in many cases cannot be applied to clients who have Alopecia, or undergoing chemotherapy, or those who suffer from Trichotillomania. Eyelash extensions can be applied if the person has received effective treatment and normal lash growth resumes. I recommend using lash conditioners or serums like Revitalash. Learn more about Revitalash.

Why do some salons charge very low prices for eyelash extensions?

You usually get what you pay for. If you decide to purchase an eyelash extension service at a low price, there's a chance that you may experience:

  • The technician using a poorer quality of products

  • The lash artist places speed over quality to complete your extended beauty procedure

  • The technician doesn’t have enough work experience and/or a reputable studio mentor.

At Kamila Beauty Studio I use Xtreme Eyelash Extensions – the best quality lash extensions products available on the US market. I’m also a certified Lash Artist since 2013 and I continually attend for refreshing classes.
